There are blogs you visit from time to time and enjoy and then there are those that are a daily fix, where no morning is complete without a little peek. Often though a 'quick look' usually leads to several more click, clicks and before you know it, an hour has passed. My favourite blogs are the ones I discovered years ago. One of the first was Shannon Fricke's blog. I remember watching her on the Lifestyle Channel and once her blog popped up on my radar I've been an avid reader ever since. Her books Colour and Space are also right at home in my bookshelf. I met Shannon once years ago, albeit very briefly when I was writing a story for Country Style magazine and she drove up to style the house. At the time I was a little 'stylist star-struck' but it was pleasure to meet someone whose work I had admired for so long. I didn't let on though that I'd probably read everyone of her posts and driven 100+km to say 'hi'- I didn't want to seem like a crazy stalker.
Another blog at the top of my list is Georgina's Perpetual One I also met Georgina while writing a story for Country Style and I was taken by her caravan called Sunny and her knack for unearthing old treasures. Each week her 'Joys' from baking bread to finding a beaten up bentwood chair are a pleasure to read about.
Decor8, The Style Files and Design Sponge - need I say more! These provide an endless array of homes to peer inside and never fail to inspire a weekend project or two. Not that many get started, but there are a lot on my to do list.
If I had to pick just one blog I couldn't live without, it would have to be The Design Files which is delivered to my inbox each day. I often saviour it over a coffee, particularly on a Wednesday! What can I say - I love a good home.
